Online counseling or therapy allows us to continue to care for you in the best possible way. Your health is very important to us. Therefore, we want to reach out to our community with our current response to COVID-19. As we are all aware, life is being interrupted temporarily. We are thankful to be able to remain open for business and to accept new clients. All appointments will be online counseling sessions until we are once again able to see you in person. We will walk you through all you need to know to easily make the transition to meeting online or to get set up as a new client.
Each client will be contacted directly by their therapist prior to their scheduled appointment. You will be able to discuss which connection will be best for you – Telehealth, Facetime (Apple only), Skype, Zoom or other options. We would like our clients to be open to utilizing technology in this way, at least for the time being. We consider this to be a temporary alternative for face-to-face meetings. While there may be a slight learning curve, it will be well worth it, and remember, we are here to guide you through.
These online counseling or therapy sessions will be like an in-office session, except you will be responsible for making sure that wherever you are is private and has minimal distractions.
Online Counseling Preparation:
- Set up a private and limited distraction space. Your car might be a good option.
- Reduce other activity on your internet so the video quality is at its best.
- It’s is recommended but not required to use earbuds and a microphone for less outside noise and privacy.
- Be on time. Our attendance policies are the same for online counseling or in-person sessions. If you need to cancel or reschedule please let your therapist know 24 hours in advance to avoid cancellation charges.
- Online counseling may work better on a laptop or desktop computer.
- You always have the option for a phone session if you feel that you need to move to a more remote location.
We will be actively monitoring our policies as needed. Our main goal is to make sure that everyone stays healthy and on track with their mental health. We remain available to answer your questions and support you as well as possible.
If you have any questions you can connect with your therapist directly or contact our office.
