Intensive Therapy

What is an intensive?

The therapist and client set aside concentrated (intensive) blocks of time known as “intensives” to work on particular issues. This time together can provide excellent results and help you in your personal growth through trauma or help fast-track progress on your therapy journey.

What is the purpose?

You may work with your therapist through past wounds, obtain help so that you can get unstuck, process body distress, or work through recent or past trauma. Your therapist will personalize the time based on your particular needs. Each therapist may utilize an array of expert treatments to move you forward. The concentrated time allows for progression more quickly than is possible in a week-to-week therapy model. In addition, it often creates the space to face more complicated issues. Intensives can provide the equivalent of six to nine months of therapy. This depends on the client’s readiness, resources, and emotional skillset or internal awareness.

Do I need an intensive?

Current patients will discuss with their therapists if an intensive may be helpful and schedule a convenient time based on availability.

New patients may contact one of the therapists below to determine if an intensive will be helpful. They will receive one virtual intake session before the intensive to assist with optimal progress. Following the intensive, they will receive one virtual exit or integration session. This will help provide a smooth transition back into normal life and an opportunity plan for continuing progress. Clients may then meet weekly or bi-weekly with their therapist.

How do I schedule an intensive?

We offer new and current patients a one-day intensive based on the limited schedule availability of each therapist. Currently, two of our therapists are offering these services.

Micah Mabe is offering an eight-hour intensive in our Roswell office on Fridays or Saturdays. He provides four hours of therapy in the morning, a lunch break (with an optional box lunch and chair massage), and then four more hours of treatment in the afternoon.  Email him for more information.

Rebeca Gilbert is available virtually or in person in Orlando, Florida. She offers the following EMDR intensive options for her current clients and new clients who are currently working with another therapist and would like to focus on a specific stuck point, issue, or memory.
