William Palmer, MA

We are broken and healed in relationships. This statement addresses one of the most universal realities we face: vulnerability is frightening and necessary.

Maybe you feel anxiety and hesitation as you consider therapy. If so, I get it. Reaching out for help is a vulnerable action to take. My goal as your therapist is to honor that decision and acknowledge the courage in it by walking alongside you in whatever season of life you may find yourself in.

Through our time together, I hope that you will begin to feel known. The kind of knowing that makes vulnerability worth it. Maybe you have experienced rejection in a relationship that you deeply value, or you wonder what people might think if they knew “blank” about you. Shame will tell you to hide. I encourage you to consider being known. It would be a privilege to hear your story and work with you to develop new tools and insights that can lead to healing and growth. My approach to counseling involves research-based interventions that have proven psychological benefits.

I believe in a collaborative, compassionate, and honest approach to counseling. This means that we will work as a team that utilizes your existing strengths and implement tools that work best for you. Coming from a Christian background, I view God’s Word as the ultimate authority and guideline to approaching hurt. Just like you, I live in a fallen world, and I aim to use the compassion and grace that I have received to offer empathy and understanding to you.

I am passionate about working with adolescent and adult males who may be experiencing problems involving:

  • Anger
  • Anxiety
  • Career
  • Community
  • Depression
  • Identity
  • Pornography
  • Relationships
  • Self-Harm/Suicidality
  • Shame
  • Spirituality
  • Trauma

My other passion is working with couples who may be experiencing disconnection and unresolved conflict and are seeking ways to have more understanding and adoration for their partner. Marriage is one of the most sacred creations that God has blessed us with. I welcome the honor of walking alongside spouses to help foster the covenant that they have made.

I’m thankful for the chance to help serve you and would love the opportunity to know your story. If you would like to schedule a session with me, contact our admin team at admin@restorationcounselingatl.com.
