Hello! I’m glad you’re here. Beginning counseling for the first time, or second time, or eleventh time takes courage, and I admire you for seeking the support you need. My name is Ashley, or you can call me Ash. As a counselor, I come alongside of you wherever you are in your journey and move with you toward hope, healing, and wholeness.
I take a developmental and systems approach in counseling. Developmentally, I consider if a person is in early or late adolescence, mid-life, or late adulthood; each of these stages of life holds unique challenges and opportunities for growth and healing. Systemically, every person exists within a context, whether that be a family, neighborhood, school, or another cultural environment.
While in graduate school at Wheaton College, I trained under Dr. Mark Yarhouse at the Sexual and Gender Identity Institute. I helped conduct research and consultations with gender-diverse individuals and those who experience same-sex attraction as Christians.
If you or your child experiences same-sex attraction or is exploring their gender identity, my hope is to provide a safe place for you to explore your identity further and receive the care you need. Before counseling, I received my B.S. in Christian Ministry and have over ten years of ministry experience, primarily in children’s and student ministry. It is one of my greatest joys as a counselor to integrate Scripture and Christian thought into counseling to the extent that the person engaging in counseling desires.
