Paige Santmyer, MA, LPC, NCC, CCATP

Ever feel like you can’t figure out how you got to this place in life, where to go from here, or are wondering why you no longer find contentment?  Maybe you feel like you’re always doing for others but don’t know how to ask for what you want and need, or perhaps others have not treated you well but you can’t figure out how to make positive changes.

Whether you’re a college student or adult, married or unmarried, there are a multitude of ways we struggle with our roles, transitions, and relationships, and I can relate!

I have experienced many of the same feelings at some point and had to learn to better navigate relationships while also facing my fears and self-doubts.  In fact, I discovered that I wanted to help others while doing my own therapy because it made such a difference in my marriage, my parenting, and my friendships.

From my own healing, I developed a passion for building relationships to guide your rediscovery of yourself to pursue a life worth living, a life aligned with what truly matters to you.  We can achieve this by looking at what makes you feel content and strong as well as where you have conflict and struggle.  I can help you recognize negative cycles and habits that no longer serve you and teach you where you can make changes to overcome your fears and doubts.  We can work together to heal past hurts, even traumas, that have left you apprehensive about interacting with the world as you used to.

My goal in therapy is for you to grow confident and find purpose in your emotions, build a healthy life balance, and move forward confident in your ability to heal from within.

My main priorities are building a strong therapeutic relationship with you, challenging negative thinking and beliefs, and refocusing you on your strengths while suggesting more helpful perspectives that allow you to let go of what anchored you in conflict.  I base my approach on Client-Centered Therapy and Relational Psychoanalysis and techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Positive Psychology, as well as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to support you in overcoming anxiety and fears.

To get a glimpse into my approach and the topics I frequently encounter with clients, please read some of my blogs using the links posted below.
