Troy Snyder, MS, LPC, CCSAS, CPCS

Have you ever wondered if you are a sex addict? Has someone close to you told you that you may need help? Is there someone in your life whom you believe should get help? Sex addiction is a problem that affects not only the addict but also their relationship with others and God. I understand, and I want to help you. I’m here not only to listen to your story but also to help you change. Together we can reframe your story to one of redemption that God will use for good in your life.

As a counselor who has treated sex addiction for 20 years, I have a deep understanding of this problem. Early in my career, I learned about a framework for helping people who struggle in this area. As God provided this keen understanding, it became clear that He was calling me to use the skills learned, along with my passion, to offer encouragement, hope, and healing to people whose lives have been affected by this specific unhealthy lifestyle.

Shame is the belief that “I am wrong, broken and unlovable.” It evokes a feeling of wanting to hide. Maybe you feel that way and want that feeling to go away. Together, we can begin to understand the source of underlying pain and move toward the goal of recovery and renewed relationships.

It is a privilege to build a trusting relationship with my clients. You may think you can get over your problem alone, but I have seen no success in recovery when a guy tries to make the changes with no accountability. However, I have seen great results for those who take that scary step to confront shame and be vulnerable with others.

I work primarily in the area of sex addiction helping the client and his family. Depending on my availability, I also work with anger issues or provide limited adolescent counseling. If my schedule is full, you may ask that we add your name to my waitlist. I can also provide referrals to other therapists who have extensive training and experience and may be available to provide the help you need.

My faith in God is the main reason for my success in helping hurting people. I hold firmly to the Word of God being the truth to teach us wisdom and help us learn to live faithfully. I look forward to being used by God to help you or someone you know.
