Hello! My name is Haley, and I am thrilled to be joining the Restoration Counseling of Georgia team. I am so excited to be a part of what God is doing here.
A Little About Me
I am originally from Louisiana and moved to Georgia to pursue my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have been in Atlanta for over 5 years now and love this city (minus the traffic, and the traffic). I am coming from a hospital setting where I have worked with adolescents, young adults, and families in the eating disorder recovery process. This work has led to a deeper appreciation of the mind-body-soul connection and the particular role that our bodies play in our healing. My therapy style is interpersonal in nature, but I incorporate a variety of evidence-based practices that are helpful in meeting you where you are.
The Power of Therapy
To me, therapy is all about presence. I believe that healing is not merely the absence of pain, but the presence of God in the pit of pain with us. The therapy relationship is a form of embodied presence, where clients experience empathy and compassion as they share their stories. This process invites us to become more attuned with ourselves and the God who knows us fully. This is not an easy process, and it takes a lot of courage, but it can lead to true change and healing.
I work mostly with adolescent and adult women on a variety of issues such as disordered eating, anxiety, depression and hopelessness, difficult relationship dynamics, life transitions, codependency, self-worth, and the impacts of trauma. I also work with couples at each stage of the relationship, incorporating emotion-focused therapy and Gottman Method couples therapy to support you in your specific relational goals.
