When I meet with young adults and women in my office, I often hear comments like, “I’m overwhelmed and stressed, and I just can’t get out of my own head” or “This situation or this challenging relationship is leaving me frustrated and stuck, and I don’t know what to do about it.” Navigating relationships with others can be challenging when we are confused about what we can control in the situation. I know because I, too, have struggled with how to handle difficult people and difficult relationships in my life. This means that you are not alone in the challenges that you may be facing right now.
Once you walk into my office, you will be welcomed into a safe environment that will foster your growth as we work together to explore ways to help you find a new path forward. Together we will explore the roadblocks, false beliefs, and thinking patterns that may be holding you back from achieving your goals. Using a Cognitive Behavioral approach, we will examine your current thoughts/beliefs to evaluate how they directly affect your feelings and behaviors. When you change your perspective, you realize you have the ability to change your beliefs, thoughts, feelings, and actions about any situation. Even if the situation itself doesn’t change, you can change!
I believe that some of our greatest growth comes out of our hardest seasons in life. If you’re experiencing a challenging season, it is a privilege to hear your story and walk alongside you on your journey. My psychoeducational style is to equip you with resources and strategies to implement daily. Additionally, I offer faith-based premarital counseling, using the PREPARE/ENRICH curriculum, to help couples better prepare for their marriage.
